eurogames2022.eu is an independent editorial publication covering European multi-sport events, inclusive athletics, and the host cities that shape major sporting occasions. The site was established to provide sustained, informed commentary on the world of European multi-sport competition – a field that deserves more serious coverage than it typically receives.

Editor and Author

The site is edited and primarily written by Nelis van Noordkamp, a sports journalist and editor based in Amsterdam with more than fifteen years of experience covering European athletics and inclusive sport.

Nelis has followed the EuroGames since the early 2000s, attending events in Manchester, Zurich, Antwerp, and Nijmegen as both a credentialed journalist and a participant-observer. His coverage has focused on the intersection of sport, community, and urban identity – understanding major events not just as competitions but as social phenomena with real consequences for the cities that host them.

Before founding eurogames2022.eu, Nelis contributed to several Dutch and international sports publications, covering subjects ranging from Dutch professional football to the development of adaptive sport programmes across the European Union. He holds a degree in journalism from the University of Amsterdam.

Editorial Approach

This site takes a neutral, third-person editorial approach to all content. It reports on European multi-sport events, their history, their disciplines, and their host cities without advocacy for any particular organisation, team, or political position. Where sources are cited, they are identified transparently. Where opinion is offered, it is clearly marked as such.
