PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT
Pickleball is one of the fastest, friendliest, and most inclusive sports in the world. It is new to EuroGames and we have limited spots so be ready when we open registration.
What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis.

We offer competition for doubles in the mornings and a special All Inclusive Team Competition in the afternoons. We hope you can join both events but you can also choose to play either in the doubles or the team competition.
Doubles Competition
The doubles will be played in groups of different levels, where mixed-gender players may play in one group. Everybody will play matches on Thursday and Friday. The semi-finals take place on Friday at the end of the morning.
All Inclusive Team Competition
We hope you will all join our unique team competition on Thursday and Friday afternoon. Every team has 4 or 5 players. Your team plays 2 doubles and 1 single against another team. We will compose teams of equal strength so every team will have players of different levels. You will play against players of your own level from another team. We take care when assembling the teams but you can give us the name of a person you would like to have on your team. In the registration form, you can choose a level or the party pool. Just make a choice and tell us if there is a person you would like on your team.
GOOD TO KNOW
If you participate in the doubles tournament, you can register with or without a partner.
When asked for your partner’s name or the team members while registering, we would ask you to you provide us with their registration number, if known.
In case you don’t have a partner, we’ll try to find you one. Just indicate “partner wanted” at ‘Partner’ upon registering.
Similarly, if you participate in the team’s tournament, you don’t need a team, you can select “please add me to a team”, or “I am looking for team members” and we’ll put you in a suitable team.
LOCATION
The tournament will take place in the VoCaSa venue. The venue is within walking distance from bus stops and the train station ‘Nijmegen Goffert’.
ACCOMODATION
We have a special campsite and sleeping accommodation with private rooms for participants (and friends) of the pickleball tournament. Check the following site: EuroGames Nijmegen July 27-30 | Pickleball Holland.

Name: Nathalie Geeris
My name is Nathalie Geeris. I played professional football in the early 90s in different countries and in the Dutch women’s national team. Through sports, I came into contact with many different cultures and people. I experienced this diversity as very enriching, and I want to convey that, as I think it is important that everyone can be themselves and is allowed to be.
A few years ago I was introduced to the sport of Pickeball in Haarlem. I was immediately enthusiastic about it. Pickleball is a fun, fast game that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis, especially the ease of entry and the social aspect really appeal to me. You can learn it quickly and there’s not too much material investment.
I am honored to be an ambassador for this sport; which is quite new in Europe, and I look forward to promoting Pickleball in the run-up to the EuroGames 2022!

If you take part in the pickleball tournament as a second sport, please note that timetables of sports may overlap; make sure that the dates and times of the pickleball tournament are not in conflict with any of the other sports you want to participate in!
